* Music during reading (to feel better the atmosphere of this chapter I recommend this song in the background)
The sun was trying unsuccessfully to peek through the clouds while the raindrops fell on the asphalt. It could be heard the sound of the sirens of the ambulance and the police approaching the two wrecked cars located on the M4, at the height of Osterley Park. A line of automobiles driven by onlookers who leaned out of the car windows to observe with amazement the accident between a taxi and a van, slowly passed by the scene on their way to London.

Not a cloud in the sky and the same degrees of a human body marked on the thermometer, turned the stay in the streets of Madrid into an endurance test. Between shop and shop, thoughts of regret were born in the young woman’s head, a consequence of the heat and the advance of the hours when she still could not find the perfect dress. She hadn’t even eaten, but the enthusiasm of a real date with the mysterious stranger with the magnetic gaze was feeding her.
‘‘She hadn’t even eaten, but the enthusiasm of a real date with the mysterious stranger with the magnetic gaze was feeding her. ’’
The clock was about to 6 PM; With barely three hours to go the desired dare, she decided to try her luck one last time and crossed the majestic glass door located at 28 Velazquez Street, the same where she saw the Nordic-looking for the first time. She was greeted by a well-groomed young man with a perfect smile, welcoming her to the spacious and modern 1500 m2 venue full of top brand clothing and accessories. Ekseption was and still being the benchmark multi-brand store in the Spanish capital. This year it had reached the age of Christ: 33 years of perfect service to the most faithful followers of the top trends and fans of exclusive and unique items, in the heart of Madrid. Designs from renowned firms such as Balmain, Celine, Maison Margiela or the new bosses of the market as Off-White or Vetements, were present among the more than 100 brands that season after season arrived to this emblematic boutique to surprise men and women who are in love with fashion.
She was not sure what she exactly wanted, she just knew that it must be love at first sight, whatever it looks like. Many people think that if you don’t know what exactly you are looking for, you will never find it, but the fact is; sometimes, once you find it, you understand that this is exactly what you were looking for.
‘‘Many people think that if you don’t know what exactly you are looking for, you will never find it, but the fact is; sometimes once you find it, you understand that this is exactly what you were looking for.’’
Her heart was won over by various luxury bags: A new classic ‘Hourglass’ by Balenciaga, the summery ‘BV Snap’ by Bottega Veneta in sky-blue colour, and an original ‘Horsebit 1955’ by Gucci. She fell in love with Fendi sandals and black Saint Laurent stilettos, but she didn’t see that dress, blouse, skirt or whatever with which her eyes began to shine.
She rarely took advices from others, even on issues as insubstantial as choosing an outfit, she only listened to her own opinion, but everything pointed out that today was one of those rare times. Thanks to Ekseption store manager, roughly 60 minutes and about 20 outfits later, it seemed that Ava had found the perfect item for tonight: A gorgeous floral printed dress by Zimmermann. It was not love at first sight, it was one of those cases when if you look closely, it fits you comparing to other options, a philosophy that many follow when they’re choosing a partner. Before making the decision, she wanted to take a last walk around the store, even though time was not in her favour.
‘‘It wasn’t love at first sight, it was one of those cases when if you look closely, fits you perfectly comparing to other options, a philosophy that many follow when they’re choosing a partner.’’
‘‘Wait a minute,’’ said the store manager of the boutique, going to the warehouse and leaving all the expectation in the air. He came back in three minutes holding a gorgeous Jacquemus cotton and linen dress. ‘‘Someone had kept it, but hadn’t come. Try it on, I think it’s THE dress.’’
It was what she was looking for, this time there was no doubt, a midi design in off-white with subtle shades of mint and purple, feminine and sensual at the same time. The decision was made.

The medical team was pulling a young man from the resuscitation room of a London hospital. Relief could be seen in the eyes of the doctor who had taken it upon himself to save Sommer.
‘‘Congratulations Dr. Williams, you have done it,’’ said the nurse. ‘‘It has been complicated, the boy has taken all the blows of the accident, but you have given him another chance to live.’’
Dr. Williams nodded in appreciation of the nurse’s words, who hurried to reach the gurney that was already moving away down a long hallway lit by fluorescent lights.

The young blonde, wearing a fabulous dress with ruffles that fell over her shoulders, was finishing up her look with a peach colour lipstick. She couldn’t remember when was the last time she was so nervous about a date. They were nerves of uncertainty, that this extreme physical attraction was limited to that, a banal meeting without interests or common values. In her heart she felt that emotion that appears when you are waiting for good news about to arrive. She didn’t even suspect that tonight wasn’t the night when she will receive them.
For the dark-haired guy, the meaning of that date stolen from Sommer was pretty different. A feeling of chance, adventure, with his ego as the protagonist, made it clear that tonight he had nothing to lose. Despite not receiving an answer from his friend, based on some previous experiences when they used to pass each other ‘‘the prize’’, and without seeing anything amoral, he was sure that one of the participants in this game had to change.
It wasn’t dark yet, but the street lights were already lighting up the quiet streets of Madrid. Without receiving any messages from the enigmatic stranger since she called him in the morning, Ava went to the meeting point, where across the street she recognized the stranger’s car, waiting for her with the indicators on. Crossing the street towards it, she was only thinking about meeting that magnetic gaze again.
